The Tea Rooms

Nestled at the top of the castle in Crown Square, The Tea Rooms is a stylish and elegant place to enjoy snacks and meals or indulge in a traditional afternoon tea.

Afternoon Tea Experience

Treat yourself or loved ones to an afternoon tea package, which includes admission to the castle.

Full of sweet and savoury delights created with some of the finest Scottish ingredients, including a classic carrot cake, and Croque Monsieur, our afternoon tea is the perfect indulgence!

Castle admission and afternoon tea must be pre-booked during the purchase process.

Food and Drink

Sample some of the best produce Scotland has to offer in a beautiful setting, with views overlooking the historical city of Edinburgh. You can also enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in The Tea Rooms, located in the heart of the castle in Crown Square.

We have an extensive bar menu, including our whisky flight which features a sample of Scottish single malt whiskies from the Highlands to the Lowlands, as well as our new range of Castle Cocktails including our Irn-Bru Daquiri and our Rob Roy made with our Edinburgh Castle 10 year old single malt whisky.

Freshly-baked cakes and scones, as well our barista-made carbon neutral coffee, are also available if you fancy something lighter.
