Battlement Walk

The Battlement Walk offers a fascinating glimpse into the castle’s stronghold military past. The angled fortifications were designed to strengthen the castle’s defences.

See a unique perspective of the castle that has not been viewed up close for many years. As you walk down into this area, you are met with the striking panoramic views of the city. An area once crucial for the castle's security now allows you to explore a significant chapter in a long and storied history.

The Battlement Walk is located past the One O’clock Gun, down the stairs and through the One O’clock Gun exhibition to the other side.

Please note the entrance and exit to this area involves numerous steps.
