Enjoy a light snack or hearty meal with amazing views on the side. The Redcoat Café – named after the bright attire of castle guards of old – looks out over Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth beyond. Look for it by the One o’clock Gun.
Food and Drink
The seasonal menu offers soups, roasts, toasted deli sandwiches and more. Hot food is served daily from 11.30am to 3.30pm, while ‘grab and go’ options include baguettes, bloomer sandwiches and snack pots. The kid’s box is full of healthy foods and fun treats, and a cake counter promises to tempt all ages.
Beers, wines and spirits are available as well as hot beverages and soft drinks.
In summer, you can try the roast tent on Dury’s Battery. Just follow the delicious smells of venison sausages, German Bratwurst and pulled pork. A full range of hot and cold drinks are also on sale.
